Awarded Gold at the 2026 Royal Queensland Wine Awards, Innocent Bystander Pinot Gris is not too lean and not too rich, landing perfectly in the middle, making it the Goldilocks of white wine. Built in a fresh French-inspired style, this cool-climate white wine combines bright citrus energy with just enough texture to keep things interesting. Sourced from vineyards across the Yarra Valley and King Valley, the wine opens with aromas of fresh pear, snow pea shoots and lemon thyme before rolling into a palate packed with lime blossom, savoury miso complexity and a crisp lemon sorbet finish. Dry, refreshing and seriously drinkable, it’s the kind of wine that works just as well with fish and chips at the pub as it does with oysters and good company. Made using a combination of whole bunch pressing and destemmed fruit, 90% of the wine was cold fermented in stainless steel to lock in freshness, while 10% was matured in French oak with lees stirring for six months to build texture and mouthfeel.
